Hi and thank you for visiting my web site.
My name is Steve Hopkin, I established Steve’s Family Outdoor Adventures in the Spring of 2014. I made this step following a 17 year period of working in the Outdoor Industry at Senior Instructor level for Educational Centres in Cornwall (including Special Educational Needs SEN).
The reason for this move was to enable me to continue working in the Outdoor Education Profession while balancing an ever increasing family demand and a degree of control on life.
I decided to focus my skills and abilities on my preferred core adventurous activities and provide these on the Open Market.
These activities include open canoeing, sit on top kayaking , mountain and moorland navigation and adventures, first aid provision , archery and bespoke problem solving/team activities with a theme.
My specialities are entwined in working with groups, the size of which varies dependent upon the activity , location , age , ability and focus of the day.
I am NGB qualified in all of the activities I provide. I hold current DBS, Safety in the Workplace, Mountain Medicine First Aid at Work Certificate and Instructor Lev 2 , Child Protection and Safeguarding Children . I have Public Liability Insurance for all of the activities I provide. I also have Truro Harbour Master Approval to Guide Commercial Canoe trips on the Rivers Looe and Tamar to the HW tidal limit.
I work as a Sole Provider as well as a Freelancer for a variety of Organizations : World Challenge Expedition Leader , Class Adventure , Adult Education , Tennis MAD and High 5 Activity Camps , Mountain Medicine First Aid in the Outdoors, Caradon Hill Project and Caradon Archaeology .
I also hold a position in a variety of Volunteer Organizations which complement my experiences and interests such as Canoe England / BCU Area Representative, Caradon Archaeology Treasurer, West Country White Water Paddler Group Instructor.
PLEASE enjoy the site and feel to contact me with regard to any matter that you feel I may be able to assist you with.
